SPECIAL ISSUE 2010

The British Journal of Social Work Special Issue 2010

Themed proposals for 2010 special issue welcome
The editors of The British Journal of Social Work invite submission of proposals for a Special Issue with a publication date of May 2010 (Volume 40, No. 4). It is intended that the issue will contain ten substantive papers (up to 7,000 words in length) focusing on the specified theme.

Outcome
All proposals will be considered by the journal’s editorial board on 4 July 2008.
The successful proposer(s) will act as guest editor(s) of the issue, working closely with the editors to manage the review process. Prospective proposers are invited to informally discuss their ideas with the editors.

Ideas for themes
The editors are particularly interested in receiving proposals that focus on human rights, social work values and anti-discriminatory practice, but would also be interested in proposals reflecting other areas of social work policy and practice that are not already well covered in the journal.

Submission instructions
Proposals should also reflect the journal’s international focus and should include the following information:
• Title
• Rationale
• Aim(s)
• Mechanism for soliciting papers
• Proposed timescale

Proposals must be submitted by 1 June 2008 (preferably via email) to:
