Keith Popple

Keith PoppleKeith Popple is a member of the Community Development Journal Editorial Board and presently Co-Editor with Mae Shaw. He also served as Editor of the CDJ from 1998 to 2003.

He is Visiting Professor at London South Bank University, Bournemouth University, and Newman University, Birmingham. Keith was Professor and Head of Social Work at London South Bank University from 2004 to 2013 and in 2014 he was appointed University Fellow at Hong Kong Baptist University and in 2016 he was appointed a Visiting Professor.

Keith has written widely in the area of community development, social policy and social work and is author of Analysing Community Work: Theory and Practice 2nd edition published in 2015 by the Open University Press.

He is a joint Editor with Gary Craig and Mae Shaw of Community Development in Theory and Practice: an International Reader published in 2008 by Spokesman. Keith is also joint Editor with Gary Craig, Marjorie Mayo, Mae Shaw and Marilyn Taylor of The Community Development Reader: History, Themes and Issues published by Policy Press in 2011.
