Mandy Wilson has worked in the community development field for many years – as a practitioner, teacher/trainer and researcher in the UK and Romania. She has worked for local and national bodies with the aim of linking theory, policy development and ‘on the ground’ practice and experience.
Mandy’s particular interests are around identity and organisation at local level, the role of the neighbourhood / place in community development and policy interventions, participatory planning and evaluation processes, and the passions that people bring to community action, change and power.
Mandy has contributed to a range of publications reflecting these interests for Policy Press, Joseph Rowntree Foundation, Housing Associations Charitable Trust, the Community Development Foundation and for the UK government.
She has been a member of the CDJ Editorial Board since 1998 and chaired the board for 6 years.
