Online submission
Online submission with Oxford Journals
Many of our journals now use an online submission and peer review system as this can bring a number of advantages to authors, referees, the editorial office and the publishing process in general.
The online submission and peer review systems enable you to submit your manuscript, or carry out a review on an assigned manuscript, over the Internet. Nearly 100 journals on the Oxford Journals list already use such a system and this number will continue to increase.
The details vary slightly for each journal, so authors are advised to follow carefully the Instructions to Authors of the journal they wish to submit to.

Why use an online submission and peer review system?
There are a number of reasons that we have adopted online submission and peer review systems for our journals. We make the decision to implement with the editorial team for each journal, dependent on the needs of that journal’s author community.
- As the whole process uses the Internet, it is faster than posting manuscripts around the world the referees. For example, you will receive an automatic acknowledgement when you submit a manuscript
- As postal speed is no longer an issue, it is easier for international authors and referees to become a part of the journal’s community
- As an author, you can check on your paper’s progress while peer review takes place through your own log in
- Everything is managed and tracked online, so the whole process is logged and accountable
- The whole process is designed to be simple for everyone involved
