Database Description

The Candida Genome Database (CGD) provides free online access to genomic sequence data and manually curated functional information about genes and proteins of the human pathogen Candida albicans and related species, C. glabrata, C. parapsilosis and C. dublinensis. CGD collects and organizes data from the biological literature concerning these species, and provides curated gene product descriptions, Gene Ontology annotation, mutant phenotypes, and gene-specific reference lists. In addition, CGD gives access to genome sequences from several other Candida-related species. CGD also contains additional online resources for the Candida research community, including a gene name registry, laboratory contact information, research job opportunities, and research community news.
The Candida Genome Database (CGD) project is funded by the National Institute of Dental & Craniofacial Research at the US National Institutes of Health. The CGD is in the Department of Genetics at the School of Medicine, Stanford University. .
