Database Description
The Candida Genome Database (CGD; http://www.candidagenome.org) is a resource for information about the genomic sequence and molecular biology of the fungal pathogen Candida albicans.
CGD collects and organizes data from the biological literature concerning C. albicans, and provides curated gene product descriptions, Gene Ontology annotation, mutant phenotypes, and gene-specific reference lists. CGD also provides tools for viewing, browsing, and downloading C. albicans sequence data from the most recent genome sequence assembly as well as from multiple previous assemblies.
CGD also provides curated pathway information, with the ability to browse metabolic pathways using the Pathway Tools software from SRI.
CGD contains additional online resources for the C. albicans research community, including a gene name registry, laboratory contact information, research job opportunities, and research community news. CGD welcomes comments and suggestions; to contact CGD curators, please email candida-curator@genome.stanford.edu.
