Oxford Journals becomes a content partner of Serials Solutions’ KnowledgeWorks Certified program
13 March 2008Oxford Journals announced today that it is a content partner of Serials Solutions’ KnowledgeWorks Certified program, thereby ensuring that bibliographic data relating to its journals is as accurate and up-to-date as possible in the Serial Solutions’ knowledgebase.
Serials Solutions’ KnowledgeWorks is a knowledgebase that enables librarians to keep track of their constantly changing electronic collections. This knowledgebase holds bibliographic metadata on a vast range of e-resources and is a primary component of Serials Solutions’ 360 services.Content partners of KnowledgeWorks Certified have committed to deliver data periodically to Serials Solutions in an agreed format to enable KnowledgeWorks to be regularly updated. Oxford Journals will ensure that data on ISSNs, titles, start and end dates of coverage, and a holding URL, are submitted to Serials Solutions on a regular and frequent basis.
Sherrard Ewing, Provider Relations Specialist at Serials Solutions, comments, ‘when publishers participate in the KnowledgeWorks certification program, librarians can trust that Serials Solutions and their providers are collaborating to maintain the highest quality bibliographic data. Librarians can assure access to their valued resources and will also more quickly be able to resolve issues, when they occur.’
Pam Sutherland, Operations Director at Oxford Journals, is delighted that they have had the opportunity to participate in this important program. ‘We hope that it will reassure our library customers that we are doing all we can to ensure that our content in this knowledgebase is as reliable and up-to-date as possible. This should not only make librarians’ lives easier but also help them to provide the highest quality service to their users.’
