Senior Faculty Position
Liver Disease Epidemiology
Departments of Epidemiology & Population Health and Medicine (Division of Hepatology)

Applications are invited for a full-time Associate/Full Professor in hepatitis C/liver disease epidemiology in the Departments of Epidemiology and Population Health (DEPH) and Medicine (Division of Hepatology) at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, a leading research institution with a strong commitment to excellence in research.

The DEPH is well-recognized for its multi-disciplinary programs in epidemiologic, prevention, and health services research and is currently undergoing considerable expansion. The newly-formed Division of Hepatology has brought together basic science and clinical faculty to create a vibrant research and clinical care environment, the latter encompassing management of large numbers of patients with hepatobiliary disorders, including hepatitis B, hepatitis C, cirrhosis, inheritable disorders, and hepatocellular carcinoma, and including a liver transplantation team.

The investigator who occupies this position will be expected to develop an independent program of research in liver disease epidemiology, and to teach medical and graduate students. The position, which comes with a generous start-up package including 3 years of salary support, start-up research funds, and the possibility of a research assistant staff, and laboratory and biorepository space, will provide opportunities for diverse research experiences in a highly collegial environment with potential for growth.

The successful candidate will have either a Ph.D. in epidemiology/clinical research or an M.D. with advanced training in epidemiology/clinical research, strong verbal and written communication skills, relevant research and teaching experience, and a record of peer-reviewed publications. Rank will be commensurate with experience. Researchers with mature research programs are especially invited to apply.

Interested candidates should submit a cover letter describing their research and teaching experience and listing three referees, together with their curriculum vitae, to: Tom Rohan, M.D., Ph.D. (Ref: AECOM-HE), Chairman, Department of Epidemiology and Population Health, Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Jack and Pearl Resnick Campus, 1300 Morris Park Ave., Bronx,
