Faculty Positions in Children’s Population Health
The Department of Paediatrics, Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, at The University of Western Ontario, in conjunction with the Children’s Health Research Institute, invites applications for a limited term position at the rank of Assistant Professor in Children’s Population Health.

The successful candidate will also be appointed as a Scientist in the Children’s Health Research Institute and will hold a cross-appointment in the Department of Epidemiology & Biostatistics or other appropriate department in the university.

Applicants must have either a Ph.D. (or equivalent) or MD plus an advanced degree related to research in a relevant discipline. Areas of expertise include epidemiology or social/behavioral science and appropriate experience and methodological skills relevant to the determinants of children’s health. The applicant will also have demonstrable potential for independent and collaborative, multidisciplinary research.


The successful candidate will collaborate with researchers in the Department of Paediatrics (www.uwo.ca/paediatrics) and other departments which are involved in perinatal programs, childhood injuries, children’s acute care problems, or the social determinants of child health to develop a program of research in children’s health. She/he will be expected to develop an independent, externally funded research program. The candidate will also have a commitment to and demonstrated aptitude for teaching and will be expected to teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels and to supervise graduate theses. She/he will join an internationally recognized interdisciplinary team of researchers at the Children’s Health Research Institute (www.chri.org). The Institute has five major programs of research: Child Health and Well-Being, Fetal and New-born Health, Developmental Biology, Molecular Genetics, and Children’s Optimal Therapeutics.
