22 July 2009Oxford University Press seeks a Senior Editor for the Journal of the National Cancer Institute (JNCI) at its office in Bethesda, Maryland. The successful candidate will join a small team of senior editors who work closely with authors and the editorial board to ensure the high scientific quality and readability of articles published in JNCI.
Candidates should have a Ph.D. in a biomedical field and at least 2 years of postdoctoral experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Candidates should also demonstrate a facility for revising/rewriting scientific manuscripts. Additional requirements include excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to quickly and accurately grasp the science in highly technical articles in all areas of cancer research and to meet critical deadlines, a facility with language, and attendance at one scientific meeting per year.
