About AoB PLANTS
AoB PLANTS is a new open access journal for the plant sciences published by Oxford University Press. It is independently owned and managed by plant biologists and run on a not-for-profit basis for the benefit of the world-wide plant science community. It is not beholden to commercial interests or to a scientific society and is therefore free to respond to the needs of authors and readers and offer a truly cost-effective publishing service.
AoB PLANTS caters for both specialized and interdisciplinary interests and covers all of plant biology including the phytoplankton.
Other notable features of AoB PLANTS include fair and transparent evaluation procedures using published minimum criteria for acceptability and a double-blind refereeing system. Publication is fast. Accepted papers will appear online within 3–5 days of acceptance and then benefit from a full typesetting and proofing service. For more information about these and other innovative features go to About the Journal and Reasons to Publish.
For an introductory period, there will be NO CHARGE to publish in AoB PLANTS. This creates the ideal opportunity to try the new journal and enjoy the benefits of open access publishing at no cost. One of the main benefits of open access is that the papers are made freely available to anyone who wishes to read them as soon as they are published, thus maximizing access worldwide while the information is fresh.
