Open-Access License & Copyright
Since its establishment in 2009, AoB PLANTS has been published by Oxford University Press as an open-access journal, where articles are freely available online to anyone, anywhere (no personal or institutional subscriptions are required to view or download articles). As of 24 September 2012, all articles are published under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution License (CC-BY), which conforms to the most widely accepted definition of open access. This status allows unrestricted use, distribution, and reproduction in part or whole as soon as articles are accepted, provided that the authors, citation details and publisher are clearly identified. Users of articles published in AoB PLANTS do not need to obtain prior permission from the authors or publisher for either commercial or non-commercial uses. Papers appearing in AoB PLANTS prior to 24 September 2012 were published under the terms of the CC-BY-NC license, which allows unrestricted use, distribution, and reproduction of articles for non-commercial uses only.
Copyright for all articles published in AoB PLANTS is retained by the author(s), who grant a license to Oxford University Press to publish the article and identify itself as the publisher. For any reuse or distribution, users must include the copyright notice and make clear that the article is made available under a Creative Commons Attribution license.
