Special Issues on Proteomics
The Computational Proteomics special issue of Briefings in Bioinformatics was guest edited by Mario Cannataro. It focuses on the overall knowledge discovery process behind computational proteomics, with special emphasis on machine learning methods, spectra data handling, biomarker discovery, standard-based and quality-aware management of proteomics experiments. This special issue will be of interest to bioinformaticians, mass spectrometrists working on proteomics, clinical proteomic researchers, and machine learning researchers.
The Briefings in Functional Genomics and Proteomics special issue, Outlook and Tools to Maximize Proteomics Information, was guest edited by Phillip Wright. It includes a range of articles dealing with both experimental and informatics challenges. The range of biological systems used as examples is quite diverse, to mirror the diversity observed in proteomics throughout the literature. This special issue will be of interest to bioinformaticians and proteomics practitioners.
