Spatial Circuits of Global Finance: Call for Papers

Overview

'Spatial Circuits of Global Finance'
(Editors Ron Martin, Harry Garretsen and Michael Kitson)

We invite authors to submit an abstract for the forthcoming special issue on ‘Spatial Circuits of Global Finance’.

It is now almost two decades since O'Brien wrote his provocative book entitled Global Financial Integration: The End of Geography? Time has moved on, money and capital markets have become simultaneously more integrated and differentiated, there have been a series of market perturbations and crises (the sub-prime debacle being the most recent), new markets have emerged (e.g. private equity), and the locus of global financial power is shifting from the US and Europe to the Far East (especially China). All this raises key questions about the geographies of finance.

Abstracts of 3-500 words should have been sent to Angela Brennan at landecon-cjres@lists.cam.ac.uk by 5 May 2008. Authors will be invited to submit papers pending the editors’ selection of the abstract.
