POST: Service Level and Continuity Management Analyst
SALARY: SO1 – SO2; £22,080 - £29,106
BASED: NEWBY WISKE
Working within the IS department this role is to develop and coordinate all IT Service Level and IT Service Continuity Management activities in line with ITIL service management best practice.
This role has two key role areas of responsibility:
• the implementation and maintenance of the IT related Service Level Management process and activities throughout NYP ensuring that SLA’s are created and maintained to reflect business requirements and IT capacity and availability, and
• the implementation and maintenance of IT Continuity to minimise the adverse impact of system failure or disasters on the business that are caused by either external factors or failures in the IT Infrastructure and to pro-actively identify and co-ordinate service improvement opportunities.
This new role will underpin a number of key technical functions within ISD, which provide support for Command and Control, Intelligence, and Crime Management systems amongst many others. You will be responsible for ensuring that computer systems critical to public safety in North Yorkshire have agreed Service Levels and suitable Continuity systems.
Duties will also include close inter-team working with engineers and other specialists from a variety of IT related disciplines in developing both SLA’s and highly resilient systems and applications, identifying and solving problems within the IT infrastructure, systems testing and Service level management review meetings with the business.
You should be a good team player, with a broad understanding of the technical performance of IT products and the inter-working of hardware, software and network system components with specific experience in Service level and IT Service Continuity Management. It is essential that you have good communication skills and an ability to work on your own initiative, as is the ability to provide clear and accurate advice to staff at all levels.
Ability to work on multiple tasks at any one time while maintaining high quality standards.
Excellent problem solving, customer facing, analytical and communication skills in relation to managing through to resolution of complex issues.
Demonstrable practical experience working within a complex multi-platform and multi application IT environment.
Educated to degree/post graduate level in a Computing/Software/Technology related subject, or equivalent.
Requirement to possess or obtain:
• Must possess, or be willing to work towards ITIL Foundation Certificate in Service Management Essentials or equivalent
• Must possess, or be willing to work towards ISEB Certificate in Service Level Management or equivalent
• Must possess, or be willing to work towards ISEB Certificate in Business Continuity Management or equivalent
