ROLE: TECHNICAL BUSINESS ANALYST (1 x 12 mth FTC)
LOCATION: Newby Wiske
RANK/GRADE: £32,310 - £35,232
Due to a large amount of IT related work resulting from infrastructure improvement projects and the delivery of other technology bias strategic projects, an exciting opportunity has arisen within ISD for a fixed term contract Technical Business Analyst who will play a leading role in delivering key infrastructure projects that will help the organisation achieve its strategic aims.
As a result of the immediate demands arising from the implementation of the above projects, applicants will be required to evidence detailed and demonstrable knowledge of previously held appointments within the technician/programmer/engineer role area and within complex multi-platform and demanding customer oriented environments. Additionally, you must be able to evidence extensive experience of being responsible for the direct delivery of work associated with project environments.
Significant relevant technology employment experiences will enable you to use your combination of business and technological knowledge to understand NYP’s technological problems and opportunities and to dissect proposed supplier technology solutions. In summary, your extensive IT training and experiences, coupled with your proven analytical mind, will ensure that the most appropriate business and technical solution is identified and implemented, and also, that any solution is aligned with agreed technology and business strategies, thereby avoiding, as far as is possible, wasted investment.
You will be working as a Technical Business Analyst on a number of technology projects at any one time, therefore you will need to have excellent time management and prioritisation skills and be able to work consistently to deadlines, producing high quality work, in particular, a high number of written documents.
A natural problem solver, you will be able to apply your extensive technology knowledge and understanding within a challenging technology context that will deliver quality and innovative solutions to significantly drive operational performance improvements. You will be expected to anticipate issues that may arise and through excellent stakeholder management skills, pro-actively seek out solutions to address issues and overcome barriers, encouraging colleagues to do the same.
Due to the very technical nature of the projects you will be involved with, in addition to the minimal level of work experiences stated above, you must:
• be educated to at least degree/postgraduate level in a Computing/Software/Technology related subject
or
• as a measure of your theoretical but mainstream IT knowledge, have achieved one or more proprietary qualifications from either Microsoft, Oracle, Cisco, HP or Sun; for example, as a minimum possess Microsoft MCSE/MCSA/MCSD certification or as a minimum possess Cisco CCNA certification, etc.
