POST: USER SUPPORT ENGINEER x 2 (12 Month FTC)
SALARY: £25,080 - £29,106
BASED: Newby Wiske
Due to a large amount of IT related work resulting from infrastructure improvement projects and the delivery of other strategic projects, an opportunity now exists within the Information Systems Department for a fixed term contract User Support Engineer for a period of 12 months.
Due to immediate demands arising from the implementation of the above projects, applicants will be required to evidence detailed and demonstrable knowledge of Desktop Support, to include, fault finding and rectification of all IT equipment in use within NYP. Ideally, your work related experience will be backed up by some form of nationally recognised accreditation which as a minimum should be to the level of CompTIA A+® Certification or Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician (MCDST).
Post holders will be required to support, administer and maintain NYP’s IT desktop infrastructure, therefore, detailed knowledge of Windows 2000 Operating Systems, Windows XP Operating Systems and other Microsoft products, such as Active Directory and Microsoft Office applications, is essential. Applicants must also must also have an employment related understanding of the set up, testing and repair of printers, scanners and other peripheral equipment.
Successful candidates will be an analytical thinker with good written communication skills. You will be excellent at customer relations, be a high performing team worker and be able to plan and organise effectively to work within tight deadlines.
The role is based at Newby Wiske with a requirement to travel throughout the force area, therefore all applicants must hold a full and clean driving license.
Relocation is not applicable to this post.
