About the Journal
Evidence-based Complementary and Alternative Medicine (eCAM) is an international, peer-reviewed journal that seeks to understand the sources and to encourage rigorous research in this new, yet ancient world of complementary and alternative medicine.
The Journal seeks to apply scientific rigor to the study of complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) modalities, particularly traditional Asian healing systems. eCAM emphasizes health outcome, while documenting biological mechanisms of action. The journal is devoted to the advancement of science in the field of basic research, clinical studies, methodology or scientific theory in diverse areas of Biomedical Sciences.
Change in eCAM Open Access Policy
Oxford Journals has been providing all eCAM papers “Open Access” without any charge to authors for the first four volumes since its launch. This has attracted much enthusiasm, and now the journal is established as one of the most exciting in the field. Due to great success in experimenting with the open access system, it has been decided for original articles to remain “open access” without charge to authors after 2008. However, all other manuscripts will be subscription based. Details are outlined below.
All original articles will be published as Open Access articles without charge to the authors. (Please note: Authors will be charged for colour costs if articles include colour figures)
Reviews, editorials, commentaries and all other articles excluding original articles will be published as standard articles, available to subscribers of the journal. However, the journal will participate in the Oxford Open program, and authors may choose to pay the Oxford Open charges in order to have their articles published as open access articles. For further details, please visit Oxford Open.
