Journal of Environmental Law Lectures
An Introduction to the Journal's Annual Lecture
The Journal's annual lecture series has been running for a number of years now and has become an established event in the environmental law calendar.
One of the aims of the lectures is to provide a bridge between the legal academic community and practitioners working within environmental law.
However, the lectures - which are often interdisciplinary - are also designed to provide an accessible insight into the subject for academics from other disciplines and for the interested general public. Recent speakers have included the well-known Indian environmental lawyer MC Mehta, Professor Neil Gunningham from ANU Australia, and Professor Sir Francis Jacobs, former Advocate General at the European Court of Justice.
As well as being an academic event, the lectures are followed by a drinks reception, which adds a social element and the opportunity to catch-up with familiar (or not so familiar) faces from the environmental law world in a more informal setting.
