SNPs and coronary angiography: can vascular biology be done from angiograms?

The DNA region at the chromosome 9p21.3 locus is expanded, and a map of the many SNPs now typed in this region and the level of their association with CAD cases are shown in the graph. The two CDKN2 genes are shown within this region, as well as the region that is responsible for the production of the non-coding RNA, ANRIL. The possibility of interference in the transcription of the CDKN2 genes by ANRIL8 is indicated by the dotted arrow.
