About the Journal

The French Studies Bulletin: A Quarterly Supplement is published on behalf of the Society of French Studies by Oxford University Press. It is the sister journal to French Studies. It is published four times a year (Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter) and publishes articles (in English or French) spanning all areas of the subject, including language and linguistics (historical and contemporary), all periods and aspects of literature and France and the French-speaking world, French thought and the history of ideas, cultural studies, politics, film, and critical theory. The Bulletin also normally includes a Comments section, calls for papers and reports on selected conferences, and other notices of interest to researchers in French Studies. It also includes a page of regularly updated information on the Society for French Studies. The Bulletin was first published in Winter1981-1982 and in 2006 published issue 100.

Articles and comments published in the Bulletin do not normally exceed 1,200 words. Authors are requested to submit items on disk, preferably in Word 2000, or as email attachments. Please do not use a computerized footnote programme. Articles, comments and notices should be styled in accordance with the MHRA Style Guide (available from Maney Publishing, Hudson Road, Leeds, LS9 7DL). A note of guidance for authors may also be found on the website of French Studies (http://fs.oxfordjournals.org). Articles and other material should be submitted to the Editor: Dr Owen Heathcote, Department of Languages and European Studies, University of Bradford, Bradford, West Yorkshire, BD7 1DP (O.N.Heathcote@bradford.ac.uk; tel: (+)44(0)1274 234623; fax: (+)44 (0) 1274 235590). In reaching a decision to accept articles for publication, the Editor will consult with independent expert readers. Contributors receive free of charge two copies of the Bulletin in which their article appears.

The French Studies Bulletin is available online to subscribers in full-text Portable Document Format. Print subscribers must complete a brief registration process in order to access the journal online, in the course of which you will need to supply your subscriber number (which you will find on the address label accompanying your copy of the journal). Copyright. It is a condition of publication in the Journal that the authors grant an exclusive licence to the Society for French Studies through Oxford University Press. This ensures that requests from third parties to reproduce articles are handled efficiently and consistently and will also allow the article to be as widely disseminated as possible. As part of the licensing agreement, authors may use their own material in other publications provided that the Journal is acknowledged as the original place of publication, and Oxford University Press as the Publisher.
