Please do not use a computerized footnote programme. Articles, comments and notices should be styled in accordance with the MHRA Style Guide. A note of guidance for authors may also be found on the website of French Studies.
Articles and other material should be submitted to the Editor: Dr Owen Heathcote, Department of Languages and European Studies, University of Bradford, Bradford, West Yorkshire, BD7 1DP (O.N.Heathcote@bradford.ac.uk; tel: (+)44(0)1274 234623; fax: (+)44 (0) 1274 235590).
In reaching a decision to accept articles for publication, the Editor will consult with independent expert readers.
LANGUAGE EDITING
Particularly if English is not your first language, before submitting your manuscript you may wish to have it edited for language. This is not a mandatory step, but may help to ensure that the academic content of your paper is fully understood by journal editors and reviewers. Language editing does not guarantee that your manuscript will be accepted for publication. If you would like information about one such service please click here. There are other specialist language editing companies that offer similar services and you can also use any of these. Authors are liable for all costs associated with such services.
JOURNAL STYLE AND FOOTNOTES
Authors should follow the MHRA style for producing their manuscripts and footnotes. The MHRA style guide is available for free download at this site.
COPYRIGHT
It is a condition of publication in the Journal that the authors grant an exclusive licence to the Society for French Studies through Oxford University Press. This ensures that requests from third parties to reproduce articles are handled efficiently and consistently and will also allow the article to be as widely disseminated as possible. As part of the licensing agreement, authors may use their own material in other publications provided that the Journal is acknowledged as the original place of publication, and Oxford University Press as the Publisher.
OFFPRINTS
Authors receive a gratis copy of the journal and a url link to their article.
Offprints may be purchased at the rates indicated on the order form which must be returned with the proofs.
