ICSID Student Writing Competition
The International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) is pleased to announce the Annual ICSID Review—Foreign Investment Law Journal Student Writing Competition.
The author of the winning submission will receive a cash prize of US$1,000.00 and will have his or her essay published in a future issue of the ICSID Review. Please see the link below for article submission guidelines and detailed contest rules.
Submission Guidelines and Competition Rules
This year, two submissions tied for first place. ICSID wishes to congratulate Ms. Lisa M. Bohmer and Mr. Peter Tzeng as the two winners of the Competition. Lisa M. Bohmer's paper Finality in ICSID Arbitration Revisited and Peter Tzeng's article Deferring Future Damages to Future Tribunals: The Jurisdictional Obstacles are free to read online.
ICSID wishes to congratulate Jessica Ireton as the winner of the Fifth Annual Student Writing Competition. Ms. Jessica Ireton, a student at the University of Houston Law Center, discussed “The Admissibility of Evidence in ICSID Arbitration: Considering the Validity of WikiLeaks Cables as Evidence".
Two submissions tied for first place in the Fourth Annual ICSID Review—Foreign Investment Law Journal Student Writing Competition. ICSID wishes to congratulate Heather L. Bray and Francisco-Xavier Paredes as the two winners of the Competition. Ms. Heather Bray, an S.J.D. student at the University of Arizona, discussed "ICSID and the Right to Water: An Ingredient in the Stone Soup" . Mr. Francisco-Xavier Paredes, a Masters student at the University of Paris I, Panthéon- Sorbonne, explored “La conformité de l’investissement au droit national, condition de sa protection internationale” (“Compliance of the investment with national law, a condition of international protection”). Both essays will be published in an upcoming issue of the ICSID Review. We would like to thank all of the students who submitted papers for the annual Competition, and we are grateful to Dr. Mohamed Abdel Raouf, Prof. Andrea Bjorklund, Ms. Mélida Hodgson and Dr. Ahmed El-Kosheri for serving on the Judges Panel.
