FORM OF MANUSCRIPT.
The required minimum line spacing in all parts of the manuscript including references is three lines per inch i.e. double the standard line spacing of typewritten text. Only one side of each page should be used in at least one of the copies. The title page should include the name, affiliation and address of each author, and a short abstract. Each section, including the introduction, should be numbered, with equations numbered, for example (2.1), (2.2), etc. in section 2, on the right-hand side of the page. Nonstandard notation should be explained in the text. Footnotes should be avoided. A list of tables and figure captions should be appended to the manuscript. Drawings should be suitable for direct photographic reproduction at printed size.
For specific information regarding style, please refer to the Ima style guide.
REFERENCES.
The Harvard system of references, giving the surname of the author(s) and year of publication in the text, should be used. Each listed reference should begin with the authors' surnames followed by initials, the year, and the title of the work. Then, for a journal article, the journal name (abbreviated in accordance with Mathematical Reviews), volume number, and inclusive page numbers should follow, while, for a book, the title, the editor (if applicable), the place of publication, and publisher should be stated.
COPYRIGHT/OFFPRINTS.
It is a condition of publication in the Journal that authors assign copyright to Oxford University Press. This ensures that requests from third parties to reproduce articles are handled efficiently and consistently and will also allow the article to be as widely disseminated as possible. In assigning copyright, authors may use their own material in publications provided that the Journal is acknowledged as the original place of publication, and Oxford University Press is notified in writing and in advance. The copyright form can be found here. In consideration of this, the publisher will supply free electronic access to the corresponding author of an article. Offprints may be ordered at extra cost at the proof stage. to do this, please download the form from this link.
Orders from the UK will be subject to a 15% VAT charge. For orders from elsewhere in the EU you or your institution should account for VAT by way of a reverse charge. Please provide us with your or your institution’s VAT number.
ACCEPTANCE OF LATEX
Authors of accepted papers will be asked to provide the LATEX source files of their paper. In preparing the paper, please use the standard article.cls file and when sending the source file for submission, please ensure that all the macros used to write your paper accompany the manuscript.
Please carefully follow all of the usual instructions to authors as detailed above however, text width should be set to 30 picas (126mm) and the page depth to 46 picas (195mm). It is very important that your references follow the correct referencing system.
LANGUAGE EDITING
Particularly if English is not your first language, before submitting your manuscript you may wish to have it edited for language. This is not a mandatory step, but may help to ensure that the academic content of your paper is fully understood by journal editors and reviewers. Language editing does not guarantee that your manuscript will be accepted for publication. If you would like information about one such service please click here. There are other specialist language editing companies that offer similar services and you can also use any of these. Authors are liable for all costs associated with such services.
