FORM OF MANUSCRIPT.

The title page should include the name, affiliation and address of each author, and a short abstract. Each section, including the introduction, should be numbered, with equations numbered, for example (2.1), (2.2), etc. in section 2, on the right-hand side of the page. Nonstandard notation should be explained in the text. Footnotes should be kept to the minimum.

For specific information regarding style, please refer to the IMA style guide.

REFERENCES.

The Harvard system of references, giving the surname of the author(s) and year of publication in the text, should be used. Each listed reference should begin with the authors' surnames followed by initials, the year, and the title of the work. Then, for a journal article, the journal name (abbreviated in accordance with Mathematical Reviews), volume number, and inclusive page numbers should follow, while, for a book, the title, the editor (if applicable), the place of publication, and publisher should be stated.

ACCEPTANCE OF LATEX BY THE IMA JOURNAL OF NUMERICAL ANALYSIS

Authors of accepted papers will be asked to provide the LATEX source files of their paper. In preparing the paper, please follow the instructions available at http://www.oxfordjournals.org/imanum/for_authors/guide_to_ima_latex_class_and_sty.html. If you have any questions about the use of the class files, please contact production.

Please carefully follow all of the usual instructions to authors as detailed above and ensure that your references follow the correct referencing system.

LANGUAGE EDITING

Particularly if English is not your first language, before submitting your manuscript you may wish to have it edited for language. This is not a mandatory step, but may help to ensure that the academic content of your paper is fully understood by journal editors and reviewers. Language editing does not guarantee that your manuscript will be accepted for publication. If you would like information about one such service please click here. There are other specialist language editing companies that offer similar services and you can also use any of these. Authors are liable for all costs associated with such services.

COPYRIGHT/OFFPRINTS.

It is a condition of publication in the Journal that authors assign copyright to Oxford University Press, by completing a copyright licence form. Upon receipt of accepted manuscripts at Oxford Journals authors will be invited to complete an online copyright licence to publish form.

Please note that by submitting an article for publication you confirm that you are the corresponding/submitting author and that Oxford University Press ("OUP") may retain your email address for the purpose of communicating with you about the article. You agree to notify OUP immediately if your details change. If your article is accepted for publication OUP will contact you using the email address you have used in the registration process. Please note that OUP does not retain copies of rejected articles.

This ensures that requests from third parties to reproduce articles are handled efficiently and consistently and will also allow the article to be as widely disseminated as possible. In assigning copyright, authors may use their own material in publications provided that the Journal is acknowledged as the original place of publication, and Oxford University Press is notified in writing and in advance. In consideration of this, the publisher will supply free electronic access to the corresponding author of an article. Authors will get a free URL link to their article online.

Offprints can be ordered using the offprint order form.

Please note:Orders from the UK will be subject to the current UK VAT charge. For orders from elsewhere in the EU you or your institution should account for VAT by way of a reverse charge. Please provide us with your or your institution’s VAT number.
