Medical Director - Clinical Oncology
Quest Diagnostics-Nichols Institute seeks a full-time Medical Director for its Oncology Division located at San Juan Capistrano, California. The director should be trained in internal medicine and oncology, with special certification in oncology or equivalent training/experience.

The Oncology Laboratory at Nichols Institute performs moderate and high complexity tests for cancer detection. Techniques used for the detection and identification of cancers include PCR, sequencing, FISH, CGH, flow cytometry, immunohistochemistry, immunoassays and other assays. An important component of the position is the interaction with physician and hospital clients to provide interpretation of test results.

The individual will be responsible for medical oversight of strategic planning for the Oncology Division. Responsibilities include development of R&D strategy, budget development and assumption of a leadership role in the area of oncology laboratory testing. Experience and license in molecular testing would be helpful. A California medical license is required. Evaluation of new tests and continuing education of laboratory staff are additional responsibilities. Salary is competitive and commensurate with training and experience.
