Radiation Oncologist
The Norris Cotton Cancer Center, one of 39 NCI designated comprehensive cancer centers, is accepting applications from radiation oncologists. This opening is for a full-time clinical position, in the Section of Radiation Oncology at our Norris Cotton Cancer Center.

North (NCCC.N) in St. Johnsbury, VT as well as at our main campus at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center (DHMC) in Lebanon, NH and a soon to be opening facility at Central Vermont Medical Center in Barre, VT. The facility in St. Johnsbury, Vermont offers state-of-the-art radiation therapy, medical oncology and advanced chemotherapy in a rural, community-based cancer care setting to approximately 114,000 residents of the VT and NH North Country region. The Cancer Center is a component of Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, New Hampshire's only academic, tertiary care facility. DHMC is an integrated academic medical center located on a 225-acre campus in the heart of New Hampshire's Upper Connecticut River Valley in Lebanon. DHMC comprises Mary Hitchcock Memorial Hospital (a 396-bed tertiary care hospital), the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Clinic (a network of more than 900 primary and specialty care physicians located throughout New Hampshire and
Vermont), Dartmouth Medical School and the VA Medical and Regional Office Center in White River Junction, VT.


The Radiation Oncologist position is on the Dartmouth Medical School faculty track and includes multiple opportunities for research collaboration with faculty at Dartmouth's Thayer School of Engineering and investigators at Dartmouth Medical School. The NCCC.N is equipped with 1 dual energy Varian Linear accelerator with IMRT capabilities, one CT simulator, and 3D-CRT and IMRT planning system. This site treats approximately 250 patients on an annual basis. The new site in Central Vermont is expected to treat similar volumes with similar technology. We are a full member of RTOG and participate in other national protocols. Staffing at DHMC includes 6 radiation oncologists, 4 physicists, 5 dosimetrists, 6 nurses, 14 therapists, and full secretarial and administrative support. Staffing at NCCC.N includes 1 radiation oncologist, 1 oncologist, 1 physicist, 2 dosimetrists, 2 nurses, 3 therapists, and full secretarial and administrative support.
Candidates must have a strong commitment to academic cancer care. Candidates must be either board eligible or board certified in Radiation Oncology.
