MBE authors have the option, at an additional charge, to make their paper freely available online immediately upon publication, under the terms of the Oxford Open initiative. For authors choosing Open Access, MBE's standard page and color print charges will be waived.
After your manuscript is accepted, you will be sent an email inviting you to sign the License to Publish via a unique link. You will be asked to choose between a standard license and an Open Access license. If you select the standard option, your paper will be published with standard subscription-based access and you will be eligible for page and color charges.
If you choose the Open Access option you can pay the Open Access charges using our Author Services site (via the unique link we will send you). From this site you can pay online with a credit/debit card or request an invoice to be sent by email or post. Please note: if you require an invoice for accounting purposes, please select the latter option. Discounted rates for Open Access are available for authors based in some developing countries (click here for a list of qualifying countries).
Oxford Open articles are published under Creative Commons licenses. Authors publishing in MBE can choose the Creative Commons Attribution licence (CC-BY) or the Creative Commons Non-Commercial license (CC-BY-NC) for their articles.
Orders from the UK will be subject to the current UK VAT charge. For orders from the rest of the European Union, Oxford University Press will assume that the service is provided for business purposes. Please provide a VAT number for yourself or your institution and ensure that you account for your own local VAT correctly.
Please see these guidelines for reuse of Oxford Open content.
