EDITORIAL STRUCTURE

PEDS is edited by a team of three Senior Editors and the Reviews Editor who oversee strategy and maintain the standards, balance and integrity of the journal. Each manuscripts is edited by a member of a large Editorial Board, representing the best scientists in the field, whose interests are close to the subject matter of the paper. Nominations of potential new members of the Editorial Board are always welcome and should be sent to the Editorial Office. Nominations should include a cv and list of publications and will usually be considered together at the end of each year.

REVIEW OF MANUSCRIPTS

PEDS operates a dual review system.

Route I. Editorial Board members may, with the approval of another member of the Board whose name will appear on the published paper, submit pre-reviewed papers for consideration by the Senior Editors or the Reviews Editor. At least two of the reviews must recommend acceptance but all reviews must be submitted, whether favourable or not. Editorial Board members also have the right to communicate and be named as editors on papers of other scientists in their own field.

Route II. All other submissions are allocated to a relevant Editorial Board member who will oversee independent review of the manuscript and submit a recommendation to the Senior Editors. Authors will be required to provide the names and contact details (including email addresses) of no fewer than three and no more than five potential reviewers for the manuscript.

SUBMISSION OF MANUSCRIPTS

All manuscripts for consideration for publication in PEDS should be submitted online following the Instructions for manuscript submission.
