Information for Authors

EDITORIAL POLICY

Authors remain responsible for the views expressed in their contributions, and these views do not engage the responsibility of the Editor or the Editorial Board.

SUBMISSIONS

Authors should submit their manuscript by e-mail in Word for PC (No PDF or postscript files are accepted). The document should use Times New Roman font in 12pt and be set to A4 page size with 1.5 line spacing. Please do not insert any page numbers at the base or top of each page. Length of article: 9,000 to 15,000 words (footnotes included).

  • The first page of the manuscript should state:
    • Title of article (use bold uppercase letters and centre it).
    • Author’s name (the first note in each article will be “asterisked”, short statement giving the author’s title and position and any brief acknowledgment of assistance provided; no dedications are accepted.
    • An abstract of 100–200 words, which includes a brief summary of the article covering the main points of the subject-matter, the general approach and the general conclusions.
  • A separate page should indicate the author's name, postal address, email address and the word count of the manuscript including footnotes.
  • No signature at the end of the article.
  • No organisation logo or sybols, No PowerPoint figures incorporated.

Language Editing: Particularly if English is not your first language, before submitting your manuscript you may wish to have it edited for language. This is not a mandatory step, but may help to ensure that the academic content of your paper is fully understood by journal editors and reviewers. Language editing does not guarantee that your manuscript will be accepted for publication. If you would like information about one such service please click here. There are other specialist language editing companies that offer similar services and you can also use any of these. Authors are liable for all costs associated with such services.

FOOTNOTES, REFERENCES AND LAYOUT

Authors are expected to follow the style sheet which can be downloaded here. Please do not refer to the previous issues of the RSQ, since the style sheet has been revised.

PROOFS

Proofs are revised by the RSQ Editorial Team. The author(s) will be notified if any revision of the article is necessary. RSQ reserves the right not to publish any contribution that has already been published. It you would like to order offprints of your article, you can do so using Oxford Journals Author Services site. A single gratis copy of the issue that their article is published in is available to authors on request at the Author Services site. A link to this will be sent with the proofs.

EXCLUSIVE LICENCE AND OFFPRINTS

Please note that an author retains his or her rights to publish an article elsewhere, subject to certain conditions, which include the fact that OUP must be the first publisher of the article and that subsequent use of the article properly acknowledges the original publication with Oxford Journals in RSQ. the author will be sent a link to our online licencing system, and will need to register with MyAccount in order to complete the licence. BOOK REVIEWS

Publishers submitting books for review should send them to the Editor-in-Chief: Dr. Vincent Chetail, Graduate Institute of International Studies, 132 Rue de Lausanne, CH-1211 Geneva. Reviewers should include full publishing details including the ISBN and publisher/location.
