About the Journal
The Review of Finance, the official journal of the European Finance Association, aims at a wide circulation and visibility in the finance profession. The journal publishes high-quality papers in all areas of financial economics, both established and newly developing fields:
- Asset pricing
- Corporate finance
- Banking and market microstructure
- Law and finance
- Behavioral finance
- Experimental finance
Review of Finance occasionally publishes special issues on timely topics, including selected papers presented at the meetings of the European Finance Association or at other selected conferences in the field.
FIRST IMPACT FACTOR
The first official impact factor of the Review of Finance has just been published by ISI Web of Knowledge in June 2011. The current impact factor of the Review of Finance is 1.952, which is higher than that of the Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis and the Journal of Financial Intermediation. It is lower than the impact factor of the Journal of Banking and Finance, which however is vitiated by a 72% self-citation rate. When computed without self-citations, the impact factor of the Journal of Banking and Finance according to the ISI Web of Knowledge is only 0.748, while the corresponding figure for the Review of Finance is 1.881.
Accounting for this self-citations outlier, the Review of Finance is the 4th finance journal in terms of impact factor.
German Academic Association for Business Research (VHB) Rankings
The Review of Finance has been the "upward climber" amongst all Finance journals in the VHB rankings and is now ranked 'A'. The ranking system is one of the most serious and widely used by German Business Schools and Economic Departments.
