Vacancies on the Editorial Board
Three vacancies on the Editorial Board of The British Journal of Social Work will be arising over the next two years, two starting in January 2009 and one in January 2010. Appointments for Board Members are normally made for a period of three years. The Board meets twice yearly at Oxford University Press to discuss and advise on editorial policy. Board members also serve as one of the Journal's panel of reviewers.
The Board wishes to ensure that a broad range of interests and expertise is represented amongst its membership, and applications from members of minority ethnic groups and people with a disability and those interested in social work practice will be particularly welcome. Applicants must themselves have published extensively, and should be able to demonstrate a wide knowledge of social work literature as well as a commitment to anti-oppressive principles and practice. Previous experience of assessment and editorial work would be an advantage but is not essential. The formal appointment will be made by the British Association of Social Workers, on the recommendation of the Editorial Board.
Applicants, who must be members of BASW, should apply electronically to the
co-editors, sending a letter of application, stating what relevant experience and ideas they would bring to the journal, and a full curriculum vitae, to either Eric Blyth at e.d.blyth@hud.ac.uk or Helen Masson at h.c.masson@hud.ac.uk
The closing date for applications was June 1st 2008.
