Vacancies for International Editorial Advisors
The editorial board of The British Journal of Social Work (BJSW) is seeking applicants for the position of International Editorial Advisor.
Two International Editorial Advisors will be appointed from each of the following five regions.
Africa
Asia Pacific
Europe
Latin-America
North America and the Caribbean
International Editorial Advisors will be expected to:
• act as a reviewer of books and/ or manuscripts for BJSW;
• encourage and assist recruitment of peer-reviewers of books and/ or manuscripts from their country/region;
• assist in selection of book and/ or manuscript reviewers for manuscripts;
• encourage submission of manuscripts from their region;
• submit their own manuscripts from time to time;
• promote BJSW in their region through, for example, distributing promotional materials to colleagues and at meetings/ conferences they are attending.
International Editorial Advisors should advise the editors/ publishers on:
• suitable marketing/ publicity/ promotional opportunities in their country/ region;
• social work developments in their region, which are relevant to BJSW;
• related social work journals in their region;
• regional perceptions about BJSW;
• the relevance of recent issues of BJSW to their region;
• resources in their region that may be utilized by BJSW;
• opportunities for increasing submissions from their region.
In addition to the above duties, successful applicants would also be expected to:
• prepare a brief report at the end of the first year of appointment and subsequently every two years regarding their activities on behalf of BJSW;
• provide ad-hoc advice to the Editors on issues of relevance to their region when requested by the Editors.
Other information
Appointment as an International Editorial Advisor is honorary, although free subscription to the journal will be provided during the period of office.
Editorial board attendance is not required, although any International Editorial Advisor would be welcome to attend Editorial Board meetings when in the UK.
Appointments will initially be for a period of five years. An International Editorial Advisor may apply for re-appointment for a further term.

Applications should include a brief CV (no more than a single page) and a letter indicating what the applicant can offer the journal (taking account of the specified terms of reference).
